A buddy of mine and me bought the budget version of Rainbow 6: Vegas so we can play it in co-op mode. Turns out, all budget DVDs can be installed, but not run. After searching for half an hour and browsing the Ubisoft forums, I found the solution, or something like that: You have to contact their support team individually and then send in the DVD to get a replacement. This information was at the bottom of a very long page in midst of many other mixed customer questions, but in the official knowledge base, or the FAQ? Nothing.

Ok, the support answered my ticket almost instantly, and they gave me all the information right away (not before bombarding me with automated “You are probably too dumb to write a support request, learn how to do it in this video…” messages. But I can’t blame them, I used to work in customer service for a gaming company, the assumption that the problem sits behind the keyboard is right just too often). And the office where I am supposed to send the DVD to is even located just a few blocks from here. Nonetheless, it could have been easier.

The Simpsons movie — yes, it’s fun. The Spiderpig rules. It looked great. The story was so, well, okay. Alright.

What else is new? It’s carnival season again, but I get a free Monday out of it, so it’s not so bad after all Time to do my taxes …
