Steam offers Unreal Tournament 3 Black (whatever) for free this weekend. Too bad that I can download it at 100k/s only right now, geesh. I really like Steam, the weekend deals are a great idea, I can re-download my games on any PC – yes it’s DRM, but as long as there is the offline mode and you can block automatic updates, I’m okay with it. On the first weekend, Empire ran horribly slow and with graphical glitches on my ATI, two days later it suddenly changes to perfectly smooth and much faster load times – Steam had downloaded a patch. I never want to google for patches by hand again.
I’m looking forward to the Star Trek premiere on May 7th. It’s about time for some good ol’ sci-fi revival. Still wondering if I should go to FedCon in Cologne, too, pricy as it is. Could be a great event, with people from BSG, Trek, and the movie just around the corner …
Other things I gotta look into: Renting some PS 3 games, Dollhouse, BSG Season 4.5 finale, … damn, there just too much out there for a single geek to watch or play. So, I’ll either clone myself, or forget about it all and start with sports. Right. Now, where did I put that jug of stem cells…
